Research interests:

My interests are centered around the observation of turbulence and mixing in stratified flows. I am currently working within the ‘AlterEco’ project, which aims to utilize autonomous observing systems to better understand physical and biogeochemical processes in the North Sea.

Active research projects:

An Alternative Framework to Assess Marine Ecosystem Functioning in Shelf Seas (AlterEco)

To develop a comprehensive understanding of shelf sea ecosystem functioning, and subsequently environmental or ecological status, requires knowledge of the natural physical, chemical, biological and physiographic factors integrated with anthropogenic activities and their impacts.

Recent publications:

AUV and time-lapse photography observations of buoyant plumes and non-linear internal waves generated by sea loch outflow.
